China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC) Testing System Solutions

Project Scope

QWmind Tech delivered a portfolio of bespoke testing systems for CATARC, including a wireless communication and performance testing platform, a power battery safety performance test system, and an automated cockpit testing suite. The engagement encompassed system design, custom instrumentation, software control, integration with CATARC’s laboratory infrastructure, and on-site commissioning.

The Challenge

CATARC required high-fidelity, repeatable test solutions to support an expanding remit across vehicle connectivity, energy storage safety, and in-vehicle human-machine interfaces. The principal challenges were ensuring interoperability across diverse test modalities, delivering precise data capture under variable test conditions, and enabling efficient test throughput to support both regulatory work and industry R&D programs.



Our Solution

QWmind Tech engineered an integrated testing ecosystem tailored to CATARC’s multi-disciplinary requirements:

  • Wireless Communication & Performance Testing: A configurable RF test platform capable of emulating real-world network conditions and measuring latency, packet loss, and protocol resilience across V2X and in-vehicle connectivity scenarios.

  • Power Battery Safety Performance System: A controlled environment for safety validation, combining electrical, thermal, and mechanical test modules with high-resolution telemetry and automated safety interlocks to support repeatable abuse and lifecycle tests.

  • Cockpit Automation Testing Suite: Automated rigging and software-driven test sequences for instrument clusters, infotainment systems, and driver-assist interfaces—enabling precise, repeatable validation of functional behavior and UX flows.

  • Integration & Data Management: A unified supervisory layer that consolidates test orchestration, real-time telemetry, and searchable test archives—facilitating traceability, comparative analysis, and regulatory reporting.

  • Commissioning & Support: On-site calibration, operator training, and maintenance handover to ensure rapid adoption and sustained lab uptime.
