Aucksun Optoelectronics —Integrated Automation for Semiconductor Production

Project Scope

QWmind Tech delivered a suite of automation solutions for Aucksun’s production floor, including a crystal-phase inspection and sorting machine, an advanced wafer cleaning system, and a cassette AGV logistics network. The engagement covered equipment design, on-site customization, systems integration, and commissioning with the client’s production control systems.

The Challenge

Aucksun required a coordinated automation strategy to raise product quality and throughput while lowering operating cost and manual labor. Key obstacles included inconsistent inspection throughput, process variability in wafer cleaning, and inefficient cassette transfer between process stations that created handling delays and increased rework risk.



Our Solution

We implemented an integrated, process-aware automation package tailored to Aucksun’s production needs:

  • Crystal Phase Inspection & Sorting: A high-speed inspection station that combines optical metrology with deterministic sorting logic to separate out-of-spec substrates before they enter downstream processes, reducing waste and protecting downstream equipment.

  • Wafer Cleaning System: A compact, high-throughput cleaning module engineered for reliable particle removal and repeatable process conditions, designed to fit within the plant’s existing line architecture.

  • Cassette AGV Logistics: A flexible AGV cassette-handling network providing deterministic, scheduled transfers between loading, inspection, cleaning, and processing stations, replacing manual trolley movements and minimizing cassette queuing.

  • Integration & Commissioning: Seamless interfacing with the site’s control systems and operational workflows, plus operator training and a phased cutover to ensure continuity of production.

The Outcome

The integrated solution delivered measurable operational benefits for Aucksun:

  • Improved product quality through early-stage defect interception and more consistent cleaning processes.

  • Higher production efficiency by removing handling bottlenecks and harmonizing inspection and cleaning throughput.

  • Reduced labor and operating cost as AGV automation and process consolidations replaced manual transfers and repetitive tasks.

  • Stronger process control and traceability, enabling faster troubleshooting and lower rework rates.
